Item #: BQ537 -- An Outstanding Signed Shin shinto Tanto with Original Mounts (sans kodzuka), ca. 1850 -- $4375.00

Ubu nakago signed, "Morichicka". This is Seishinsai Morichicka/Musashi, who is listed as Chujosaku in the Shinto volume of Fujiwara on page 219. The blade is hirazukuri form and in original dulled polish with a couple of tiny nail catcher nicks and slight later sharpening on part of the edge. The hamon is very active in toran with large tobiyaki and could be defined as hitatsura. The sword will be stunningly beautiful in new polish. The habaki is high quality silver foil and the koshirae is formal and subtle with polished same and natural honey colored fittings. This tanto will be a fine addition to any collection. Lacking kodzuka. 33.5 cm. with mounts, 21 cm. blade nagasa.
