A rare F.H. Clark & Co., Memphis, southern percussion derringer, made about 1845-1860. The former owner stated that it was found in the early 20th century at a Civil War battle site. Maker stamped to the left side of the breech and displays scrolled engraving on the lockplate, trigger guard and barrel tang. The lock, barrel escutcheons, nickel silver butt inlay and portions of the walnut stock are missing. Near relic condition with a great untouched period patina but it could be restored or displayed as is in a Civil War collection. These pistols are rare and very collectable due in part to their association with Derringer, the Civil War period and southern manufacture. 18 cm. L.
