Item #: BQ3392 -- A Fine Shinshinto Period Kanehiro Katana Blade, ca.1900 -- $1250.00

A traditionally made ubu blade, signed, "Unshu Rajima ju Ryusui Kanehiro Saku" -- a smith we have no information on and who is not dated. This is a bare blade without habaki offering. The hamon is an active medium suguha with gunome, choji and sunagashi. The slightly extended boshi is robust with a good turnback. This work is in about 90% polish with a couple of small areas of light surface rust and rubbing. There are a few slight nail catcher nicks to the cutting edge. The sword could be placed in shirasaya and enjoyed as is or could be put in full polish and mounted. 65.2 cm. nagasa.
