Item #: BQ2910 -- An Edo Period Japanese Kuwagata Maedate -- $625.00
This maedate is in the traditional Kuwagata (stylized deer horned) form that was often mounted in addition to a central maedate. Three-piece darkened copper construction with the center attaching element engraved with stippled background, leaves and flower buds plus an added butterfly Cho mon as used by the Oda family and others. A fine example in excellent period condition. This will add greatly to the appearance of a kabuto needing a maedate. 27cm. H.
