This high domed multi-plate direct riveted iron conical form jingasa is of the type that was generally used by Japanese musketeers during the Edo period. It is well constructed and displays a fine original rust patina exterior with three Taotie face tsuba-form iron appliques. The interior iron loops for attaching the liner are now missing. Fine original period used condition.. 35.7 cm. diameter.
