This Spanish American War Period uniform includes a complete coatee with all butttons and trim, epaulettes and correct matched striped trousers. Excellent slightly used period condition. The collar label reads, "The American Uniform Company New York" and the trouser label, in part, reads, "R. Cohn" (owner). There is a little fraying of material at top edge of collar. The 71st N.Y., also known as "The American Guard", saw action during the Spanish American War in Cuba at the lead with others including Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders at San Juan Hill.
