This fine large robust shinogi-zukuri blade from Mushashi Province, Edo, is signed in part, "Matsuzaki Hayata Naomune" and is dated 1864. The hamon is wide sugaha nado. The blade has an outstanding custom solid silver two-piece habaki that is engraved with mon in Takaha (hawk feather) design that was used by the Abe family among others. Included with the sword are N.B.T.H.K. Kicho Token papers. The blade is in excellent recent Japanese polish and is housed in a fine kiri wood shirasaya. 71.9cm. blade nagasa.
