A rarely encountered pattern with uncommon basket hilt. Excellent blade, maker marked "W.K.C." (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie) with king's head knights head logo, double etched with Bavarian motto, "In Treue Fest" and national crest. For similar example see "Swords of Germany 1900/1945" by John Angolia, pg. 434. Good condition; the hilt with considerable loss of plating. 101.5 cm. overall in scabbard, 86 cm. blade.
