Item #: BQ1205 -- Very Fine Unsigned Kanemoto-style Katana, Koto-period ca. 1550 -- $5250.00

A good katana in excellent Kai Gunto mounts with very rare same covered saya. The hamon is in classic sanbon sugi with clear itame hada. There is a single 1" long closed ware about 3/16" above the cutting edge that is 3" below the tip of the blade. The original polish is excellent and tiny open grain does not detract form the beauty or function of this sword. The nakago is o-suriagi with two mekugi ana. Slight dark spotting at edge, scabbard with minor restoration work. 41 1/8" overall, with 27 3/16" nagasa.
