Rare large Sammai Wase work. The outer repousse sheets are in the design of plum blossoms and samurai accoutrements. This tsuba is made in the early form of two outer layers with a copper core and added shakudo rim. The plate is in fine condition with great age patina and small areas of remaining gold accents. A very hard to find tsuba in this style and condition. 2 7/8" round x 1/8" thick.
