A good German made sword for a Bolivian officer, ca. 1920's, by Alcoso and so marked at the forte. White sharkskin grip with triple wire binding, tight and intact. Lionhead pommel with red glass eyes. Obverse langet with an eagle withing a wreath of leaves. Fine details to hilt. Excellent triple etched quillback blade with Bolivian crest and floral/geometric designs. Nickel plated steel scabbard with brass locket and chape, both deeply engraved with acanthus leaves. Overall VG; some freckling to the scabbard plate and a bit of corrosion at the lower leading edge. Overall in scabbard 94.3 cm., blade 76 cm.
