A socketed Indian lance head, possible made for parade at the Delhi Durbar, with attractively bolsters chiseled in floral motif. The socket rolled and brazed with copper, with a hole for securing to the wooden haft. The blade probably of wootz steel; may show a pattern if properly cleaned and etched. Good condition, rust acidically removed, blade with an area of light to moderate pitting, the socket still with areas of dark rust scale. Overall 37.5 cm., blade 23.2 cm.
