An early 20th century Philippine sword with wavy blade, quite sharp, of flattened diamond section. No evidence of lamination or forging flaws immediately visible; may or may not show a pattern when etched. Excellent hardwood handle with attractive grain and carved castellated pommel and brass ferrule. Recurved copper brass guard with central swelling. In its properly fitting hardwood scabbard with medial groove and carved hanging loop, bound with four braided rattan bindings (the top one lacking) and hand carved leaf form finial with small centrall boss. Overall VGC; minor age cracking to pommel, very minor wood loss at tip of scabbard, blade mottled and with some dings to the edge from use. The handle displaying slight looseness. Overall 68.5 cm., blade 47.5 cm.
