An interesting 19th century Mexican dagger with long, slender spear-point double-edged blade with carved initials at either side of the ricasso, "J. R." Rudimentary copper lozenge-shaped guard. Horn grip in three sections, the pommel carved in the form of a cowboy boot and capped with a copper heel. Overall GC; a fine relic of the American/Mexican Southwest. Fine condition; the blade mottled with light scattered pitting, the extreme tip very slightly rolled. Overall 37.5 cm., blade 27 cm.
