A 19th century Nepalese kukri in its original black asshide scabbard without chape. One-piece wooden grip with single ring, inlaid with bone rhomboids and set with studs. Iron bolster and pommel cap, the latter with decorated central washer. Hand-forged double-fullered blade with well-cut cho, the reverse with brass inlays consisting of arcs and dots in floral and symmetrical patterns. The sheath well stitched, with accommodation for karda, chakmak and tinder pouch, all absent. Overall GC; the blade with some minor spotting but not pitted, the handle with several age cracks and missing some of the inlays, the sheath with minor insect damage; would look great with leather treatment. Blade 31.2 cm., overall in sheath 45.4 cm.
