A Gurkha soldier's kukri in its original leather covered wooden sheath. Single-piece hardwood grip with rudimentary ring, steel pommel cap and single piece iron bolster. Single-fullered blade with broadly beveled edge. The leather sheath with incised decorating, without chape, with accommodation for bi-knives and tinder pouch, the former absent and the latter present but not easily removed. The scabbard retains its original leather strap. Overall GC; the scabbard leather open for about 3" at the underside near the throat, lightly worn overall. The pommel chipped at the top with the cap folder over. The blade fine, with no pitting or chips. Overall in sheath 43.5 cm.
