A Gurkha military kukri, ca. late 19th / early 20th century, in its original leather covered wooden scabbard. One-piece hardwood grip with rudimentary ring, brass pommel cap and steel bolster. Double-fullered blade with deeply cut cho and broadly beveled edge. Black asshide sheath without chape, with lightly tooled perimeters and accommodation for bi-knives and tinder pouch, all absent. Overall GC; the blade with scattered dark spotting and lightly pitted areas near the hilt. The grip with several chips and scuffs, the sheath worn and split at the lower part of the top edge, the leather dry and torn near the top; the pocket shrunken and somewhat disfigured. Blade 29.8 cm., overall in sheath 42.3 cm.
