Item #: 1002-338 -- A Nepalese Kukri -- $135.00
A mid-20th century Nepalese kukri in its tooled leather scabbard. Hardwood grip with iron bolster, embellished with nickel bands and rivet sleeves, terminated in a nickel pommel cap with with raised central rhomboid. Brightly polished blade (the reverse coated with a thin residue which would remove easily -- it comes off effortlessly with a fingernail) with two very narrow, short fullers. Leather scabbard embossed at the front with geometric forms, with bronze chape, retaining a later leather frog with two hanging loops. Overall GC; the scabbard dry and flaking, the frog missing the lacing at the front. The handle with a (tight) crack. Blade very sharp without grinding marks. Will clean well; minor dirt and superficial oxidation. 30.3 cm. blade, overall in sheath 44.8 cm.
