A late 19th or early 20th century Moro kampilan with carved wooden hilt representing a sea creature, reflecting Dayak influences. The blade with slightly curved cutting edge and straight back, decorated with fine filework at the rear of the tip, showing forging flaws and linear striations, the finish a dull grey with dark spotting. Basically GC; The hilt worn, with numerous small chips and losses to the wood and showing several old glued repairs. No grip binding is present, nor is there visible evidence of having had a binding. Without scabbard. Blade 70.2 cm., overall 99.2 cm.
