A large Indian katar dagger of robust proportion. The blade fullered, probably cut from a sword blade in period. Iron hilt and bolsters with filing and chiseled relief work. The twin grips well-filed and detailed with intermediate filed iron beads, one missing. The tang rivet peen set within a filed florette. The armguards with raised borders and chiseled appointments. Retained in a later wooden sheath with red velour cover. Overall fair condition; darkly patinated throughout, the blade missing the tip and with deeply pitted areas, moderate pitting overall. Overall 45.8 cm.
