An interesting Tuareg kaskara with unusual antelope horn handle, bound in place with lizard hide. The blade of indigenous manufacture, stamped to either side with two marks reminiscent of half-moon marks often found on European variations of similar swords and ground with a full-length central fuller and two short fullers at the forte. Cruciform guard with flared ends and short langets. The scabbard of leather with lizard skin appointments and tooled decor, swollen approaching the tip and retaining its original hanging strap. GC; the blade unsharpened with small areas of active rust and spotting. Should clean well with steel wool and oil. Blade 61 cm., overall in scabbard 81.3 cm.
