An interesting African dagger, probably from the Tetela or Sungu tribe. Handforged spearpoint blade with pronounced medial ridge resembling hollow-grinding. The blade with asymmetrical peripheral punched patterns and lobed appendages representing the division between the forte, the latter having serrated edges, and the blade. The handle flared at both ends, of elliptical section, with iron-spiked butt. Overall GC; the handle with fine patina, the metal mottled. Minor chips to wood. Overall 41.8 cm., blade 24.2 cm.
