Item #: 10-3705 -- An Original Gendai WW2 Period Japanese Katana Blade with Habaki, Signed Rai Kunifusa -- $1250.00

A Gendai katana blade, signed tachi mei, "Rai Kunifusa." Fuller and Gregory in "The Oshigata Book" state that these swords are Gendai, i.e. traditionally made, and several are recorded as having been named, Flying Dragon etc. The blade is not in polish but close inspection reveals a wide billowing hamon that almost reaches the shinogi line in places. We have seen other swords in polish by this maker that are quite stunning in appearance, A damaged period saya and a loose fitting brass habaki are included with this blade. The sword should polish beautifully with no remaining issues. 67cm. nagasa.
