Item #: 10-3561F -- A Rare Original Frank Richtig WW2 Home Front Fighting Knife with Cornish Sheath -- $3750.00

A rare original Frank Richtig WW2 home front fighting knife. Stacked leather handle with brass fittings and without the maker's pommel stamp. The blade displays considerable use and minor period reshaping. The fine sheath is stamped "CORNISH OMAHA NEBR." The sheath is supple, fits the knife well and the closure snap is in good working order. Richitig knives were often unmarked when made and many were also very lightly stamped. Given the evident blade wear it is probable that the entire knife has been cleaned up by the original owner or a later collector. Richtig is famous from his Ripley's Believe it or Not listing and he is one of the most widely sought after makers of WW2 fighting knives. His work is featured in all of the major books on the subject. This is a rare chance to add one of his blades to your collection. The condition of this knife is excellent overall with some rust pitting to the blade. 10 1/2 (26.7 cm.) overall with 5 11/16 (14.5 cm.) blade.
