# BQ2049 - A WWII Period Japanese Katana, Seki ju Fukuda Kanetake Saku - $ 1450.00

A Showa sword with army officer’s shingunto mounts. The original saya has been professionally restored in black lacquer. When obtained from vet’s family the sword had torn remnants of brown leather covering over a lacquered saya. Ubu nakago with one mekugi ana signed, “Seki ju fukuda Kanetake Saku,” with Showa acceptance stamp. The blade with ko-chogi/gunome midare hamon, showing a few light scuffs and surface oxidization. Probably oil tempered and not a true gendiato but a fine example of the type. 66.4 cm. nagasa.
