# upp1 - An Engraved Uruguayan Double Barreled Percussion Pistol, Bijon Y Clerc - $ 1750.00

A double barreled .69 cal. over and under percussion pistol by a Uruguayan maker. Both sideplates engraved with a floral motif bearing a banner with maker’s inscription “BIJON Y CLERC.” Cocks and German silver trigger guard similarly engraved. Nickel silver pommel cap storage compartment with iron lion’s head door. Twist damask barrels with ramrod loops to the obverse. Butt with nickel silver shield shaped escutcheon, beautifully carved with central sunflower motif and checqered. The top surface of the barrel and tang further engraved with vines and leaves. With the original wooden ramrod. Overall 34.1 cm., barrels 16 cm. long.
