A Mid-20th Century Nepalese Kukri, Dui Chirra - $

A Nepalese kukri with single-piece bone grip with brass bolster and pommel cap, in its leather sheath. Dui chirra style blade of good form, quite sharp, with incised scalloping and linear patterns along the spine, narrow waist and well-cut cho. The reverse blade surface with a coat of old varnish, the obverse without. Durable, military style leather sheath, stitched at the borders, with brass throat and leather belt loop, without chape. Overall GC; the grip with (tight) hairline age-cracks, the obverse of the blade with minor oxidation, the sheath fairly supple and without cracking or loss to the finish. 45 cm. overall with 31.3 cm. blade.
