# 1002-343 - A Good 19th Century Silver Mounted Nepalese Kukri with Assorted Accompaniments - $ 450.00

A 19th century kukri in its original scabbard. The hilt of hardwood with carved ring and broadly flared pommel. Silver bolsters, upper and lower ferrules and beautifully embossed pommel cap. Beneath the ring a row of silver studs encircle the handle. The steeply downturned blade with three narrow fullers, exhibiting a finish similar to craquelure; an apparent by-product of the forging process. Contained in its original black asshide sheath with silver chape, frontal brown leather floral applique and leather hanging thong. The rear with provision for an assortment of bone-handled tools, the blades finely formed in various shapes and further containing the traditional tinder pouch. GC; the grip with an old hairline crack, the sheath quite sound, with a few small spots of minor cracking. An unusual example. One of the tools associated. Blade 33 cm., overall in sheath 44.3 cm.
