# USCS20 - A Cavalry Saber in the Style of the U.S. M1860, Probably Mexican Rurale - $ 450.00

An unattributed cavalry saber with three bar brass hilt, similar in design to the U.S. model 1860 but having a blade with a flat rather than rounded spine. Unmarked with the exception of a rack number "713" on the knucklebow. The blade with wide stopped fuller and additional narrow fuller beneath the spine. Swords similar to this were widely used by the Mexican Rurales, for which they were well known.GC; the pommel peen original, the blade sharpened, with a few small edge nicks and dark grey-brown patina and a couple of areas of rust scale and/or light pitting. The grip with minor wear loss to leather and retaining 100% of the twisted brass binding. Overall 98 cm., blade 84.8 cm.
