# BQ2616 - Late 18th Century European/Italian Flintlock Pistol - $ 1440.00

A fine example of a good quality European full stocked flintlock holster pistol that appears to be signed at the border between barrel and stock; only the top loop of one letter remains partially visible. It has a three stage octagonal to round twist barrel with floral engraving at the base and slightly flared at the muzzle. The finely crafted lock has a swan necked cock with integral waterproof pan; the bridled frizzen is roller mounted. In very good used period "as found" condition. The walnut stock has moderate silver wire and leaf inlay with good quality silvered iron mounts. The furniture decorated with military trophies and folaige designs. The stock retains most all of its wire inlay, and the original ramrod and pipes are present. The wood displays period wear with minor dents, a small crack at the muzzle and an old repair of a break at the grip. 32.5cm. barrel, 49.8cm. overall.
