# BQ2597 - A Rare Original U.S. Indian War Cavalry Kepi, ca. 1880 - $ 960.00

This post civil war example is either period Army or a G.A.R. member's hat. The maker's label is printed on the inside liner, in part, "The Pettibone Mfg. Co. Cincinnati", which was established shortly after the war. This dark blue kepi is original and carries the correct period 6th Infantry two piece brass device, side buttons and cord. The top in medium blue felt also displays a red felt diamond. The condition is excellent with scattered mothing, especially on the top. The underside of the leather bill has two areas of rubbed finish. The liner is fine. Approx. size 7.
