# BQ2266 - Outstanding Heavily Gilded Shakudo Kodzuka Handle, Mid-Edo Period, ca. 1750 - $ 840.00

The raised design of samurai on a small sailing ship amid waves is boldly engraved in detail and futher embellished with areas of dark shakudo. The unsigned work has very fine nanako (fish roe) pattern punch marks covering the background of the plate. Very good overall condition with slight loss of gilt and minor wear marks along the edges. A beautiful addition for an important koshirae. 9.5 cm. x 1.4 cm.
