# bq2031 - A Fine 19th C. Chinese Pipe - $ 1020.00

Multi-piece construction, carved from ivory with the grooved mouthpiece and bowl, in the shape of a clenched fist, dyed a rich jade green. Very fine condition, brass lined bowl showing darkening from past use; the ivory with a fine age patina. See Butterfields, “Fine Asian Works of Art,” 10/12&13, 1999, Lot 7078 for a similar example. 18.7 cm. overall.
