#BQ638 - Japanese Carved Horn Mother and Child - $325.00

A carved horn figure of a mother in a hooded gown holding a baby (a Christian theme, perhaps?). Dyed orange, nicely executed. Stands approximately 9" tall with stand. The wooden stand carved with openwork pattern on an oval base (3 ¼" x 4" at bottom). Overall GC+; a large section of the openwork having been broken out and cleanly repaired. Overall VG+; small area of chipping to front at base. Late 19th century.
