# BQ566 - British Cavalry Officer's Presentation Sabre - $ 5400.00

Brass scabbard with much gilt remaining and original wood liner. Ivory grip with chipping near pommel, missing the wire. Guard with much remaining gilt. Inscription reads "KING AND COUNTRY, PRESENTED TO ALBERT G. FLEETWOOD BY THE MEN OF THE BIRMINGHAM LIGHT HORSE, MARCH 1806 AD." Blade bearing crowned GR cipher, marked "WARRANTED," and heavily etched with . Reverse langet with intertwined monogram "AGF," and obverse with a lion holding a crescent moon and Latin inscription "PATIENTIA ET SPE." Small dents to scabbard, missing hanging rings and a small piece of metal at throat. Overall 32 3/8", blade 27".
