Probably from Chikuzen province. Original samurai mounts with good early polish, near mint. No restoration to this sword. Sugaha temper approx. ½" wide running the full length of the blade through the tip. No flaws of any kind. Double fullers to both sides of blade through nakago on both sides. Nakago signed Nobukuni, inlaid with gold. Seppa of gold foil over copper; menuki appear to be of solid gold in the form of tigers. 2-pc. Gold foil habaki, solid shakudo tsuba with gold foil edge. Matching fuchikashira of shakudo with gold floral motif. Slight dent to kashira. Saya in formal black lacquer with horizontal stripes for the entire length. Saya in excellent original condition with a couple of very small dents and small amount of lacquer loss at the extreme tip. Original cord. Large-nodule same in good condition, with slight cracking. Overall 26 ¼ in saya, nakago 17 ¾".
