# BQ393 - US Silver-hilted Presentation Sabre, Civil War Period - $ 4800.00

US Silver-hilted Presentation Sabre, Civil War Period. Marked "Clauberg, Solingen," with standing knight logo. Spine marked "Iron Proof." Blade with gilded paneling with "US" and the American Eagle. With rust and surface pitting over approximately 1/3 of the blade. Silver grip, silver scabbard with bronze fittings showing traces of gilt. Remnants of an inscription, no longer legible. Scabbard with three dents to the top half and missing a screw at the chape. Heavy patination to silver and brass components. Overall 38 5/8" in scabbard, blade 32".
