Early 19th Century mask of the Dan tribe of West Central Africa (Ivory Coast). From the Malkin collection. Malkin was a well-known collector of primitive art from the New York City area. Collected in the 1930s. Good patination; small chips to back edge, otherwise VG+. 7 1/2" tall, x 4 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" deep.
