#BQ1082 - Late Edo period Iron Katana Tsuba, ca. 1800 - $950.00

A fine large Japanese iron katana tsuba with very unusual rare shape. Plate has overall surface punchmark pattern. This tsuba is from the Charles Cowdery collection and is pictured in the 1973 Hawley book " Tsubas in Southern California", page 114, #562. Cowdery was an early American sword collector and photographer in Los Angeles, Ca. 3 5/8" tall x 3 1/8" wide.
